This is how it goes.
So basically... My name is Max Wyman and I have decided to take a gap year before college, for many reasons, such as: not being absolutely thrilled with the college I was about to attend, and wanting to explore and experience life. Just that sentence alone makes me happy. I can't think of a better time, personally, to take a gap year because there is a lot I have to learn about myself, and about who I really want to be. Now... about what I am actually doing.
I will be volunteering on organic farms across the country. Wow, right? Yeah pretty out there I guess, but when you actually take a second to think about it, it kinda makes sense. I am always looking for a different route to take, or a way to separate myself because being cliche is not in my bag of tricks. I will be volunteering my hours during the day, farming, and I will be fed and housed by the host farm family that fosters me. My first farm is in Emmitsburg, Maryland and my second is in Vienna, Maine. So... join me on this blog while I try to find myself and also learn the ropes of farming ;).

Day 18
I woke up at 750 this morning, and went down to join Ross for breakfast. I had another classic PB and J toast, with my insipid glass of water, and then got ready for the days work. I knew that today I wasn't going to be outside much, so I didn't feel like putting on my working pants. I kept my sweatpants on. I wasn't sure if Zoelli had eaten or not, but I assumed she did because she usually eats before me, so when I saw her going downy he stars I followed her down, to find out that she was eating breakfast at 830. #notchill. I went back upstairs and stalled, until I felt obligated to start the morning chores, with or without Zoelli. I am programmed to get to work as soon as I can because I don't want to be have to told to. It is just something with pleasing whomever I am working for I guess. As opposed to Zoelli. I was actually kind of ticked off that she slept until 830. Like yea, Harold won't say anything, but I mean we were already waking up late as it was. I just thought it was kind of disrespectful, and I went out and did the chicken chores by myself. I came in, and Zoelli offered to wash all the eggs, while I went down to the basement with Harold and start on our days work of soil blocks. I started doing a few by myself, and then Zoelli came down, and while I made the blocks with my cookie cutter instrument, Zoelli seeded and pressed them down. We had a pretty good system going. We talked of many things like usual. About my camp friends, and what I am doing tomorrow, which reminds me I have yet to say. I am going to Colby College tomorrow to visit a friend from PV who goes there, but I am mainly visiting because I am applying to the school, and I would like to see if it is a good fit for me. So I am stoked on the bon for that. So Zoelli and I blocked for about 3 hours until lunch. We made 16 blocks before lunch together. We ate an early lunch because Harold and Laura were leaving for Boston. So basically, after lunch Harold let me know that after I finished the 4 flats of soil, the day was over...classic. What an easy day I thought. So, Zoelli and I finished the last 4 flats, and then chilled out until 345 when I went out by myself and did the chicken chores alone again, just because I wasn't sure if Zoelli was asleep. I brought the eggs back in, and did some SAT practice. After feeling somewhat productive, I took a nice 2 hour nap. What a nap it was. I miss naps, because they make up for the lack I sleep during the night. What a classic invention. Naps. I woke up just in time for dinner. Ross cooked up some burgers, and I ate two of them. I was curious as to know whether the boys would do grace, and to my surprise they led it. Its funny, that just now, 6 days before I am going home, I finally feel comfortable partaking in the conversation with the boys. It took me awhile, but I can finally add in my one liners, that I am oh so famous for. They're all nice, at times extremely sarcastic, but funny nonetheless. After dinner I took a shower, called some peeps, and nowI am just waiting until tomorrow to visit Colby. Boo Yah. Nighty.
